How Cudos is preparing for the Mainnet ??

Have you ever imagined a decentralized cloud computing network? What if you can combine cloud and blockchain to make computing sustainably cost-effective?

Yes, it is possible. CUDOS is a network that combines DeFi, NFTs, and gaming experiences to realize the vision of a decentralized Web 3.0. The platform is launching its Mainnet in February as they aim to transition the network from Ethereum to the native Cudos blockchain.

Let’s explore more about the Mainnet launch.

Testnet overview

CUDOS began its incentivized testnet, Project Artemis, in September, and has completed three phases. The fourth phase, Collins, has begun this month and CUDOS will carry out a complete dry run of the genesis deployment with the whitelisted validators who are a part of the mainnet genesis block. The network will start the end-to-end testing of the process of launching the Cudos network from genesis. Phase 4 will represent the migration of native tokens on the CUDOS network.

Preparation for the Mainnet launch?

  • Mapping tokens

CUDOS ERC-20 holders can migrate their tokens from the Ethereum network to the new CUDOS network till February 7, 2022. The staking of smart contracts will temporarily freeze in production for the Mainnet on February 7. The stakers and validators can claim their incentives a day before by adding them to stake and preparing for auto migration. If you miss the deadline for the address mapping tool, then you can migrate the unclaimed rewards using two methods of reclaiming smart contracts or using the gravity bridge. But, doing so will impose additional gas fees.

  • validator & developers work

The validators and developers community has contributed a lot during the three phases of Project Artemis. Moving forward, they will continue to play a prominent role in the final phase and the Mainnet launch. Only the validators who will be a part of phase 4 will get a chance to move forward with the Mainnet launch.

“Their stake will be migrated automatically at no cost to them, and they will keep all the delegators they currently have in the Ethereum staking. Furthermore, as this is the last phase of the testnet, we are also adding some extra tasks from the previous phases to double up on the testing of the network and also to give more chances to developers to get engaged, familiarise themselves with the network, and earn some more rewards.” Head of Data and Research at Cudos, Joan Garcia Tormo.

The platform is providing bonus tasks as a part of Phase 4. Validators and developers who complete the tasks can claim their incentives through this form.

  • Token Staking

Along with the Mainnet launch, the CUDOS platform has reached another milestone of 1 billion stakings and the number is growing. Currently, the platform is offering 30% APY and after the successful launch of the Mainnet, users can access Delegated Proof of Stake (DPoS) on the new network. If you’re a CUDOS token holder, then staking on the CUDOS platform will help you earn good rewards. If you’re a developer, then this is your last chance to be a part of the test and earn rewards.

Bottom Line

The transition from Ethereum to CUDOS blockchain will make the CUDOS platform more interoperable. Developers can deploy smart contracts, the gateways for commercial development of DApps and Web3-powering projects. The Cudos’s inherent native transaction optimization has led to a decrease in gas fees when compared to the Ethereum Blockchain. The platform claims that as the number of Validators increases, the network will become more secure. The transition will allow holders to pay for purchases from international marketplaces using their native tokens.

About Cudos

Cudos is powering the metaverse bringing together DeFi, NFTs, and gaming experiences to realise the vision of a decentralised Web 3.0, enabling all users to benefit from the growth of the network. We’re an interoperable, open platform launchpad that will provide the infrastructure required to meet the 1000x higher computing needs to create fully immersive, gamified digital realities. Cudos is a Layer 1 blockchain and Layer 2 community-governed compute network designed to ensure decentralised, permissionless access to high-performance computing at scale. Our native utility token CUDOS is the lifeblood of our network and offers an attractive annual yield and liquidity for stakers and holders.
